My "new" antenna
The random wire in my top floor room stopped working some weeks (the 9:1 unun was faulty) and I've only just got round to replacing it. I've been making do with a 20 m hor. V but it doesn't work very well.
This time I've used 30' of thicker wire, with a new unun. Matches quite well from 10 down to 40. Very well on a couple of bands. Checking it with the RBN shows that I'm getting out quite well on 20 and 17 around Europe and Iceland.
Heard a station calling CQ on 20, answered him and had a very nice 15 minute QSO (I hate rubber stamp QSOs!). He was Maurits (LA3XIA) in Haugstadvn, Norway. He gave me 57 to 59 and he was about the same here.
It's nice to be back on HF again.
